Hello Baconivores!

Bacon.TV is the start of a dream. It’s about something I believe in, something I care about, and in fact something that generates such a level of passion in my heart, mind, soul and tummy that I think about it, dream about it and get in an automobile to take long road trips to experience in new ways. Ladies and gentlemen of the Internet, I love Bacon.

It’s the start of a dream because I’m starting with a ramen noodle budget and vision to build something that is a celebration of charcuterie as much as Disney World is a celebration of animation and Dollywood is a celebration of Dolly Parton’s Great Smoky Mountains.

I want to make TV about Bacon. I want to make movies about Bacon. I want to build The Bacon Museum, and I want to actually make Bacon. In short, I want to celebrate life’s tastiest meat!

Phase One begins with this website. It begins as a blog that features news and information about the human celebration of pork bellies. I’m starting with five sections:

Bacon Fun

Who knows where the trend of creating Bacon themed treats, gadgets, clothing, bikinis and condiments began. In my mind it started with Bacon Salt made by the Bacon visionaries, Justin and Dave. Since then, we’ve seen Bacon flavored dental floss, Bacon bubble gum (good stuff), Bacon socks and Bacon action figures. This section of the blog will celebrate all the happiness that Bacon brings to the world.

Bacon Extreme

When Bacon Goes Wild, Bacon.TV will cover it in our Bacon Extreme section. This is where you’ll find crazy experiments with Bacon … things you might not want to try at home. If it’s Bacon, and it could result in a heart attack, we will celebrate it here.

Bacon Ed

Bacon isn’t all just about joy and salivation as we think about it’s smokey goodness. In the Bacon Ed section we talk to farmers who raise the pigs (or lamb or beef), we’ll talk to artisanal producers of bacon who treat the process like it’s art, and we’ll cover forms of charcuterie that go beyond just Bacon with coverage of some of Bacon’s cousin’s (sausage and cold cuts).

Bacon Stories

The world wants to read your best Bacon experiences. Readers are invited to submit Bacon stories about romantic Bacon breakfast in bed, road trips, unique Bacon finds, and maybe even stories about negative Bacon experiences (if such a thing exists). If it’s a Bacon story worth remembering, share it with your fellow Baconivores here.

Bacon Recipes

It hardly needs an explanation, but my goal is to create an exhaustive database of the world’s recipes that highlight bacon. I want to collect recipes that are simple, recipes that are sophisticated and everything in between. Please help by submitting your favorite Bacon Recipes here.

This is only the beginning. Thank you for your participation in what I hope will be a life-long celebration of Bacon!

Sincerely,

Neal Campbell
